New Port Richey Main Street, Inc. is proud to announce that it has been designated as a 2026 Accredited Main Street America program, the highest national designation awarded by Main Street America.

This recognition is given to local Main Street organizations that meet rigorous performance standards and demonstrate strong commitment to community-based revitalization, preservation-based economic development, and measurable local impact.

For New Port Richey Main Street, this designation is more than a title. It reflects the ongoing work of our board of directors, committee members, volunteers, downtown businesses, community partners, and supporters who continue to invest in the future of Downtown New Port Richey.

What Accreditation Means

Main Street America recognizes two tiers of national designation: Accredited and Affiliate. Accredited status is the top designation and serves as a badge of excellence for local Main Street programs across the country.

To qualify, communities must demonstrate strong performance in several key areas, including:

• Broad-based community commitment to revitalization
• Inclusive leadership and organizational capacity
• Diversified funding and sustainable operations
• Strategy-driven programming
• Preservation-based economic development
• Demonstrated impact and results

New Port Richey Main Street was evaluated through assessments conducted by the organization, its board of directors, and Florida Main Street, which works in partnership with Main Street America to identify local programs that meet national standards.

A National Movement with Local Impact

New Port Richey Main Street is one of 838 nationally recognized Accredited Main Street America organizations and part of a network of more than 1,600 communities working to strengthen historic downtowns and commercial districts across the United States.

In 2025, Main Street America programs across the country generated $9.4 billion in local reinvestment, welcomed 6,936 net new businesses, supported the creation of 36,549 net new jobs, rehabilitated 10,623 historic buildings, and leveraged 1.8 million volunteer hours.

On average, for every dollar a Main Street program spent on operations, $23.13 was reinvested in its downtown district.

Building Momentum in Downtown New Port Richey

Over the past year, New Port Richey Main Street has continued to build momentum through business support, community events, downtown marketing, historic preservation efforts, and strategic partnerships.

Programs and events such as Fourth Friday, Downtown Dine Out, Sunday in the City, and other district-wide initiatives have helped encourage residents and visitors to shop, dine, explore, and connect locally. These efforts are designed to support small businesses, increase foot traffic, and strengthen Downtown New Port Richey as a vibrant destination.

New Port Richey Main Street has also continued to advance projects that celebrate the district’s history and identity, including the Tides of Time public art experience, while building stronger relationships with downtown businesses, civic partners, volunteers, and community members.
